For thousands of years, the Whadjuk Nyoongar people have lived on the lands of Boorloo (Perth) and used yarning to pass history, culture and perspectives of the future between generations.

TEDxPerth acknowledges the Whadjuk Nyoongar people as the Custodians of these lands and waterways, and extends our respect to Elders past, present and emerging.

Michael Pignéguy

What if the difference between a good day and a great one was something you could compose? Musician, arranger and composer Michael Pignéguy has spent his career telling stories through music — scoring documentaries, arranging for orchestras, and taking audiences on sonic journeys across continents. In this talk, he turns that lens on something closer to home: your daily life. Drawing on his own film scores, orchestral works, and an unforgettable walk down a school corridor, Michael asks whether we can use music the same way filmmakers do — not just to accompany life, but to actively shape how we feel within it. The answer leads somewhere surprising: to a playlist that is yours alone, and a life you have more power to design than you might think.
