Event Manager

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Lead the management of event planning, including key milestones, and scheduling with the Event Coordinator Volunteers / Production & Technical Team.
  • Communicate with similar team leads to identify and track their required goals/milestones & how they integrate within the event schedule.
  • Prepare Checklist of necessary event materials, equipment, and supplies are available and organized for the event.
  • Assesment of Quotations from Suppliers for Activations & Fringe requirements.
  • Assess requirements of vendors, suppliers, venues, and partners to identify volunteer support required and capture in event schedule.
  • Assist volunteer coordinator with Schedule for additional Support required on Event Day.
  • Review any High-Risk activities & ensure these are highlighted in the Master Risk Management Plan.
  • Lead the distribution of Event Plan to Key Stakeholders and Internal Team.
  • Provide Leadership & direction to event volunteers to ensure they are well-prepared and motivated onsite.
  • On conclusion of events ensure event materials and equipment are returned and any loss/damage is addressed.
  • Post Event discussion and reflection on tasks undertaken and ways we can improve.

Knowledge and skills required: 

  • Fun & Proactive Attitude
  • Great Organisational & Time Management Skills
  • Excellent Communicator, who feels comfortable within a dynamic team.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams & Microsoft Office Suite
  • Previous experience in Events Management and/or Community programs are highly recommended

  • Weekly Tasks Dedication: A commitment of 2 to 6 hours per week, with flexibility around key project deadlines.
  • Collaborative Meetings: Participate in regular meetings to discuss progress and actions, 1 hour per week.
  • Deadline Commitment: Timely completion of tasks is essential to ensure the success of our projects and the smooth operation of our organisation. Respond to all correspondence in a timely manner.

We are seeking a dynamic Head of Partnerships who will be crucial in stewarding the financial sustainability of TEDxPerth while creating valuable partnerships that enhance our event experience.

  • Lead partnerships and sponsorship sales by crafting win-win agreements that serve both TEDxPerth and partner interests
  • Identify, approach and secure new corporate partners and sponsors across various industries

Head of Volunteer Experience

Responsibilities and duties:

As a 100% volunteer-led organisation, the experience of our volunteers is at the heart of everything that we do. We are seeking a highly proactive and organised person for the Head of Volunteer Experience role.

  • Participate as a core member of the TEDxPerth Volunteer Leadership Team, contributing to strategy and culture.
  • Establish and lead a small Volunteer Experience Team (typically 3–5 people) to deliver people-focused initiatives.
  • Design and oversee the volunteer lifecycle—recruitment, onboarding, engagement, development, and offboarding.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of policies, processes, and tools to support an exceptional volunteer experience.
  • Collaborate with Heads of Department to ensure appropriate volunteer resourcing across the organisation.
  • Champion inclusive, safe, and positive volunteer culture aligned with TEDxPerth values and community impact.
  • Promote wellbeing and retention by fostering recognition, feedback, and community-building practices.
  • Access guidance, training, and tools through Volunteering WA to support best-practice volunteer management.
  • Uplift practices over time to align with the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement.
